Mayor Wdowiasz was honored to announce the start of the 2024 Special Olympic Games at Dunkirk High School earlier today. She highlighted that the participants should shine their athletic abilities and unique light before exclaiming, “Let the games begin!” A celebratory parade of students and teachers was led by members of the local ROC, followed by participating athletes and the supporting student body. A crowd of spectators filled the stands while the athletes ran down a tunnel of high fives arranged by their fellow classmates.
