Mayor Rosas proclaims the month of October as "National Disability Employment Awareness Month!"

National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) is observed each October to commemorate the many contributions of people with disabilities to America's workplaces and economy. The theme for NDEAM 2023 is "Advancing Access and Equity" and

workplaces welcoming the talents of all people, including people with disabilities, are a critical part of our efforts to build an inclusive community and strong economy.

The Resource Center supports 200 people with disabilities and other challenges in obtaining and maintaining community employment at approximately 170 businesses in our community. Individuals with disabilities in the workforce gain a sense of pride, satisfaction and self-worth that comes from earning real wages for performing meaningful work.
