The City of Dunkirk was nominated by the Western New York Regional Economic Development Council and selected by New York State to receive a $10 million award through the State’s Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI). The DRI investment will allow Dunkirk to develop a Strategic Investment Plan and implement key catalytic projects that advance Dunkirk’s vision for revitalization of its downtown area. Projects selected for DRI funding will transform the community and support a vibrant local economy. This meeting is one of three opportunities for community members to get involved are available in the coming weeks.
The approximately six-month DRI planning process is guided by a Local Planning Committee (LPC) of representatives from local government, community organizations, local businesses, and residents. Residents are encouraged to attend the upcoming public workshops to learn more about the Downtown Revitalization Initiative and to submit their ideas for Dunkirk.
