Please click on the Business Loan Program tab on the left for more information.The Mission of the Dunkirk Local Development Corporation (DLDC) is to ensure the long-term viability of the City of Dunkirk by creating opportunities for economic and community development. The DLDC seeks to foster economic development through the provision of low interest loans to Dunkirk businesses and industries as a means to attract new businesses; retain and grow established businesses; create and retain jobs; foster entrepreneurship and innovation; build industrial and commercial capacity; and increase the real property tax base. Additionally, the Mission of the DLDC is to improve the quality of life for the City of Dunkirk residents by creating and supporting leisure events through Dunkirk Festivals & Special Events.
The DLDC has the capability of acquiring commercial buildings for redevelopment or demolition, giving out loans and grants, and other direct economic development incentives. Currently, the DLDC owns several pieces of property for development, and maintains active small business loans. The DLDC is a sub-recipient of the City’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG)Program which provides funding for its Small Business Loan Program.
The DLDC Festivals hosts many annual festivals & special events within the City of Dunkirk. Some of which include: Annual Memorial Day Parade, Fired Up for Summer Kickoff, Fourth of July Fireworks Celebration, National Walleye Fishing Tournament Championship, Beach Bash, Back to School Bash as well as the Music on the Pier series which features free live music on the Dunkirk Pier every Thursday evening during the summer months.
Additionally, the DLDC hosts the Dunkirk Farmers Market located at the Dunkirk Senior Center at 45 Cliffstar Court. The Market runs Wednesdays from mid-June through mid-October from 9am -2:00pm.
