The City of Dunkirk supports our businesses, including large corporate and small businesses alike.
If you have a new business to the area, or want to promote your existing business, please reach out to the City of Dunkirk.

Our FREE New business package includes:
  • A scheduled Ribbon Cutting in partnership with the Chautauqua County Chamber of Commerce
  • A general business ad promoting your business name, address, and hospitality/retail product(s)
  • A short Access Channel commercial video of the ribbon cutting with business owner(s)/staff interviews.

City of Dunkirk Small Business Loan Program (Revolving Loan Fund RLF)

    • The objective of this program is to facilitate the expansion and retention of business activity within the City of Dunkirk, create employment opportunities, and expand the City’s tax base.
    • Term Loans: Term loans are secured loans that span from $2,000 to $25,000. Rates are determined per loan.

    • CODI is an affiliate corporation of Chautauqua Opportunities, Inc. that builds from COI's mission to alleviate poverty by promoting self-sufficiency with focus to develop opportunities for new and existing entrepreneurs within our lending area by providing access to capital, technical consulting, and training.
    • Micro Business Loans: CODI's newest installment loan product features loan amounts between $500 to $5,000. Rates are set at Prime + 3% secured or Prime + 6% unsecured. Funds can be used for business purposes such as working capital, equipment, inventory and marketing.
    • Term Loans: Term loans are secured loans that span from $1,000 to $50,000. Rates range from Prime + 2% to Prime +4%. Funds can be used for any business need such as the purchase of: machinery and equipment, furniture and fixtures, marketing, advertising, real estate, inventory, and more.
    • Line of Credit: Lines of credit are secured and span from $1,000 to $50,000 and are based on the needs of the business. Rates are set at Prime + 2%. Whether for payroll or vendor coverage, a line of credit can sometimes be more useful to a business than a term loan.


SUNY FREDONIA TECHNOLOGY INCUBATOR


The incubator will assist entrepreneurs in starting and growing successful businesses based on existing and emerging technologies. The SUNY Fredonia Technology Incubator nurtures and accelerates the successful development of start-up and fledgling technology companies. Through a network of supportive resources, technical expertise, and shared business services, the incubator empowers firms with the knowledge and experience needed to become financially viable and freestanding.

In order to qualify for “admission” to SUNY Fredonia’s Technology Incubator, you must meet three criteria: (1) be a technology-related firm, (2) have the potential to grow, and (3) exhibit a commitment to Western New York.
