Dunkirk Bike Path and Recreation Trail

The Dunkirk Waterfront Recreational Trail is a 3-mile continuous waterfront recreational trail located along Lake Erie in the Dunkirk Harbor. It connects Point Gratiot Park on the west side of the City and ends in Wright Park, on the east side of the City. The proposed trail is a "non-motorized diverse use" trail that will be designed to connect all three-waterfront parks and provide for a safe and accessible 3-mile waterfront recreational trail for use year round. The trail will improve the visual aesthetics of the waterfront therefore increasing access and the use of the harbor as a tourist destination and increasing the recreational use of Lake Erie harbor front. Construction is slated to begin in 2008.
