Dunkirk Wreck & Roll Festival Concerts Ready to Roll

Dunkirk, NY -- Are you ready to Wreck & Roll? The excitement has been building and at long last the first of Dunkirk's Summer Festival events will take place this weekend on June 20th -22nd . The WRECK & ROLL FESTIVAL will keep visitors and residents rockin, rollin' and wreckin' on and off the shores of Dunkirk. Free concerts, specialty boat tours, contests and homemade boat races will offer fun and entertainment on a scale Dunkirk has not seen in years.

Virtual Dive Tours
The Horizon Tour Boat is ready to sail with the new "virtual dive" tour. June 21st and 22nd are the only time this one-of-a-kind tour can be experienced. Passengers will be able to experience a shipwreck dive off the Harbor via special dive equipment sending a video and audio signal back to the deck of the ship. The dive will be broadcast aboard the ship on LCD monitors while offering a narration of the divers experience below first hand. Interestingly, the Horizon is the only boat on the Great Lakes where passengers can see the shipwrecks of Lake Erie in a dive setting without ever getting wet. Two Virtual Dive tours will be offered on both Saturday, June 21 and Sunday, June 22. Early birds will like the 9:30 am boarding, while those who prefer a later start in the day will want to book their passage on the 2:00 pm boarding. The Virtual Dive will take passengers out to one of the shipwrecks not far off the shores of Dunkirk Harbor. The Passaic, The Washington Irving, The Brunswick, and The Carlingford are shipwrecks that may be dive options depending on weather and visibility. For the price of $45 per person you can enjoy a great time and learn about local area history as well.

Concert Line Up
Three "main stage" tribute bands will offer crowds a taste of big time entertainment right here at home. The concerts are free and will be located at the main stage in the City Lot between the Clarion Hotel and Tim Horton's.
